Burckhardt is planning and realizing a production building with clean rooms and offices for Nivarox, a Swatch Group company. The new building is characterized by a highly flexible core structure. Construction got underway on 15 November 2023 in Marin, Canton of Neuchâtel.

The new three-story building will house the production of components for oscillation systems under clean-room conditions with the associated laboratories and offices. The development of an extremely flexible building structure was an overriding factor in the planning. To achieve this, a structure with a column grid of 9 x 7.2 meters and an arrangement of four cores was chosen, in which all vertical elements are arranged in the corners of the building.

The first floor will form the centerpiece of the new building: a room-in-room construction for the 8.4-meter-high clean room with a raised floor and walkable technical floor. The standardized and yet flexible layout of the production building creates ideal conditions for Nivarox, the leading Swiss specialist for mechanical watch components, to be able to respond to whatever requirements and technical developments the future may bring.
