The cantons of Basel-Stadt and Basel-Landschaft are awarding the«Gutes Bauen» (good building) prize for the seventh time. Held every five years, the 2023 award ceremony will be hosted by the canton of Basel-Landschaft.

Developers and planners were invited to submit their projects – from small buildings to infrastructure, open spaces and high-rise structures – and general planning and construction processes, by the June 30 deadline. The competition is open to private and public structures that were erected between July 2018 and June 2023 and are located in Basel-Stadt or Basel-Landschaft. A specialist jury whose members come from all over Switzerland will evaluate all submissions based on four criteria: building culture, urban planning, architecture and sustainability.
